Cruzan OJ Dreamsicle

Are you ready for a taste of summertime? We are! We first tasted this yummy Cruzan concoction at the conclusion of our first tour of the Cruzan Rum Factory in St. Croix.

You see, at the end of the tour, you get to sample several rums or rum drinks and this is one of the ones we tried. Tasted JUST like the Creamsicle’s that we used to enjoy all summer long – with a bit of a kick!

So, if you’re ready for summertime – or at least a taste of it, grab your Cruzan Flavored Rums, put on your sunglasses and enjoy!

Dark Mojito

Here’s another one to add to your Mojito Recipe Files – a Dark Mojito. It’s truly just a slight variation of The Perfect Mojito and a Dirty Mojito and in our opinion, tastes the rummiest of the three! Use a dark rum with a taste that you find pleasant, as the dark rum taste does rise above the milder taste of mint and sugar.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Dark Mojito
(makes one)

2 oz. dark rum
8 mint leaves
2 tsp. brown sugar
juice of 1/2 lime
club soda

Gently muddle the mint with the lime juice and brown sugar. Add crushed ice and the rum. Fill to the top of the glass with club soda. Garnish with a sprig of mint.

Lemon Pomegranate Fizz

Light and refreshing and not too sweet – the perfect summer rum drink! Play with the ratio to make it just right for you. More pomegranate juice or lemon juice to increase the tartness, more lemon lime soda to increase the sweetness, or use diet lemon lime soda if you want to cut back on the calories! Ahhh…enjoy!

copyright Rum Therapy
Lemon Pomegranate Rum Fizz
(makes one)

1.5 oz white rum
1.5 oz pomegranate juice
.5 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
lemon lime or diet lemon lime soda
lemon slice for garnish

Add rum, pomegranate juice and lemon juice to an ice filled cocktail shaker. Shake lightly and pour in a short cocktail glass over crushed ice. Add lemon lime soda to fill to the top. Garnish with a slice of lemon.
